We’re going back to court to defend congestion relief.
We’re suing the Trump administration.
Today, represented by Earthjustice and alongside the Sierra Club, Riders Alliance took a major step to continue our defense of congestion relief by filing to join the MTA in its lawsuit against USDOT and the Federal Highway Administration.
It isn't by chance that we're prepared to defend congestion relief from an openly hostile and dangerous federal administration. Donald Trump made it clear long before Election Day that he would try to kill congestion relief. We knew this day would come – and we’ve stayed ready, continuing to work with Earthjustice, which represented us in Riders Alliance v. Kathy Hochul.
Now, with the Governor holding strong (“The cameras are staying on!”) and riders mobilizing in the streets, press, online, on platforms, and in court, we’re once again stepping up to meet the moment and protect what we’ve won.
Congestion relief is working. That’s what makes it an even greater threat to oppositional forces here in New York and in Washington, D.C. The numbers show it could be the single most successful urban policy implemented in decades. We won’t let it be derailed.
